Socal Pct advice
A friend of mine is fired up about the PCT and wants to a long weekend hike along the PCT sometime this spring just to get a feel of it. I figured Id go with him to do some training. Any suggestions of a 20 mile section that has some Beauty and water available (I'm not to interested in carrying water) below say Tehachapi.

Re: Socal Pct advice
I'm in a similar situation. Retirement happens in March but on the Presidents holiday my son and I are doing Campo to Mount Laguna. He's doing it as part of the Teddy Rosevelt and JFK 50 mile challenge, but for me it's all about starting the trail at the beginning and experience the good, bad, and ugly to see if it's for me. It's beyond my capabilities to do it in one season, but tackling the sections from south to north over time is a possibility.
