To All
Wishing you and your families a Happy & Safe Thanksgiving!!!!

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Re: To All
Thanks Maverick! To you and your family as well!
I'm thankful for (in no particular order):
Darn Tough Socks
Thomas Buoyant Lures
Flashy Red-bellied Brookies (hope to replace with flashy Goldens at some point)
Late-morning pass crossings
Cozy down quilts
Crisp/Clear autumn days filled with golden aspen leaves
Post-hike beers
and of course, this forum and all who contribute their experiences to it.
well, and of course, the Sierra Nevada.

Re: To All
Ok, what is everyone cooking?? Me, braised turkey legs in onion and red wine sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts/bacon, and oyster dressing. Cooking for one, because I like to cook and I don't like her family enough to drive.
For the flashy goldens, go to French basin. Lorraine. You can fall back to the brookies at Tomahawk.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Higher taxes never reduce the deficit. Governments spend whatever they take in and then whatever they can get away with.

I cook.. They order in.. There is history there that I won't get into. I appreciate the "funny" part of your response though..

Oh, I am very thankful for the people in my life, and also for those who passed away, making living special, the material things have less meaning to me.

Re: To All
I am thankful that I can still hike and get friends to travel across the country to come on the hikes.

Re: To All
As far as hiking goes:
I am thankful for my youth, as it makes up for my (poor) fitness.
I am thankful for living as close to the Sierra as I do.
I am thankful for my experiences and safety thus far.

Re: To All
I’m simply thankful to still be alive, living with the love of my life for more than 45 years, and able to hike, camp, and backpack in some of the most beautiful places in the world.
I don’t need a goal destination. I need a destination that meets my goals.

I'm thankful for my unnwashed, undeserving heirs.
