I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the appropriate place, but the PCTA just highlighted that he was found near Bishop Pass.

Re: Body of Robert “Bob” Woodie found
Hey b_k, thanks so much for posting the information. At least his family now has closure and his remains can be put to rest.
Seems a common attribute of those that go missing under similar circumstances succumb near a pass that was crossed on the way in.

RIP Bob.
His last known location transmitted by his SPOT was Barrett Lakes. I would have suspected he'd be found in the Palisades somewhere... wonder if he was trying to beat the weather over the pass.

Backpacker mag had an article in the latest edition. It was also published here:

It's a very moving story and it hits home about the dangers of hiking in the "shoulder" season. Rather than trying to cross a pass in 100 mph winds, what should be our response - head for lower grounds? Say you were in Dusy Basin in this weather event - what could you do?

Bob and I had a mutual friend. She said she wanted to introduce us, but he went missing. Here is his son, Robert's, latest postl
