Hello:
Just wondering if anyone has done the Sierra High Route this year and can speculate on conditions in early September? Specifically I am curious if there will be lingering hard packed snow in passes or gullies that might require ice ax and crampons? Thanks for any info.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
