Re: Longri?
Posted the Sierra Challenge information on Summitpost, with a link back to this thread, hopefully someone might have some information, like Bob Burd.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Re: Longri?
Well, if the info I was given was correct, then either he did not sign up or has different name.

http://www.summitpost.org/phpBB3/2013-s ... 64804.htmlThe following is a list of 52 persons who participated in the 2013 Sierra Challenge.

Re: Longri?
Checking priory years, maybe he participated in another year.
PS Checked participant lists from 2010-2016, no Richie or Long on any of the lists.

Re: Longri?
From looking thru his HST posts:
- He is married, and his wife backpacks too. This could mean that she possibly knows about HST and Longri is just not posting any more or maybe she doesn't.
- Has hiked the JMT several times.
- Spent 2 months climbing (Jan/Feb) in YV, in 2011. So he is a climber, which makes the Sierra Challenge still a possibility.
- Had a bear try to obtain his hung food 30 years ago, which most likely puts him at least over 45.

Re: Longri?
I think it's the same guy who used to be a regular on the JMT Yahoo group, but asked to have his account deleted around May '16 due to Yahoo hang-ups. He logged in there as longritchie (note the spelling of ritchie). I'll send you a PM also.

Re: Longri?
Perhaps this should all be PM. Seems like a potential invasion of privacy to do this on a public forum?

Re: Longri?
Maybe, but the point was to get the word out that we don't know and someone here might.

Jim, everything posted here is available on the web, so everything is already in the public domain.Seems like a potential invasion of privacy to do this on a public forum?
Going thru the Yahoo postings, it seems like it would be the same person, that person also has a lot of good things to say about salami, as did the person here on HST. He was active there till 5/10.
So, at least we know he is alive and has moved on, as shall we.
