Nick Nicholas headed out on 1/3/17 to the Bishop/Buttermilks area, he has not been heard from since, if you spoke to him or saw him, please contact the Inyo Co Sheriff's Dept at 760-878-0295.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Update as of 8PM, 1/6/17:
A friend of the missing person says he was last seen at mammoth mountaineering, but does not know if it was the Bishop or Mammoth location. Reportedly he was "geared up with cold weather gear".

Update as of 5:30AM, 1/7/17:
This info is from another acquaintance of the missing person:
" He last talked to his gf via phone and said he was going to Big Pine. He was supposed to return Thursday so he's been missing 24 hours. He has some foundational backcountry level skills but hasn't had significant real world practice."
And this info provided by another which may be useful:
"I live in Big Pine and have shared. A few days ago up on Glacier Rd. A large boulder fell onto the road causing the road to be closed."

An acquaintance of the missing person informs me that he has been found safe. The SAR sent a snow cat to the [big pine] trail head and found him at his car.
