Just saw this video on msn

I'm skeptical on how well it will work but it would be awesome if it indeed worked as advertised.

Re: Patch that makes you invisible to mosquitoes
It says that it lasts for up to 48 hours. Man, I could have used one of those this summer at Emigrant Lake...

Re: Patch that makes you invisible to mosquitoes
Here are two more articles, read the first one back in 2013. Really hope this is successful in deterring all species, and can help in the fight against Malaria and other mosquito born illnesses. Should know more in the next few months.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

I think you have to put this patch on your forehead, and the chems burn a giant "L" into your forehead, but I'll wait for the research to be done. I recommend Tehipite Tom to be a test subject. I've seen him covered in skeeters.

Re: Patch that makes you invisible to mosquitoes
I too really hope this works. My family and I attract mosquitoes much more than the average, and this is one of things that bothers my son the most about being in the backcountry (he lets this annoyance get to his head more than other members of the family). In addition, within the next several years I plan to be doing some geologic field work in tropical areas where mosquito borne diseases are more of an issue, so if this thing really works I plan on using it.
Since my fishing (etc.) website is still down, you can be distracted by geology stuff at: http://www.fresnostate.edu/csm/ees/facu ... ayshi.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Mosquitoes mainly find us by tracking the trail of CO2 we breathe out, but also can smell other chemicals on our skin. This NIH article discusses newly discovered methods of blocking mosquitoes' CO2 receptors:

And at the same time, September seems to solve the problem nicely. No patch required..
