Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.
Going to give this pic thing a try. This was Sept 2002, Piute Pass trail.
Pretty sure that's Loch Leven behind me. Former girlfriend's dog. I've got one now that's the same breed. Hoping to shed 15-20 lbs of pack weight from what I was carrying that day. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks off the smokes. I think I can do this again!

It's nice to see another Sierran couple. My wife and I have been Sierra nuts for a long time, having fished something over 500 backcountry lakes together, as well as having bagged a few nice peaks. The Split Mtn. photo brings back a memory of the summit register in Sept. 1980, that I think you and your husband will enjoy. When I climbed Split then, I remember this one entry in particular. Some young fellow, noting that a woman had climbed Split the week before, noted in his entry something like "Any woman who would climb this peak is someone I want spend my life with."
Me at the 'Glacier Point of the Muro Blanco'. The guy who took this wanted me to edge further out on the rock (so I'd be more in the picture), but I was having none of it.
All I can ofer at this time is a cheesy video, on our under construction website...3xplosion.com In the "Hiking and Camping" window, im the dork actor :retard:
