I'm going to be dropped off at a trailhead for a point to point hike and will be spending one night in a car camping campground before I start. I'm not going to carry a real tent, just a see-through Cuben tarp, but I'd like the privacy (and the light blocking) of a tent in the campground.
So I need a tent I can throw away.
What's the best solution for this?
As it turns out, I have one: a tent I stopped using many years ago because it was very UV damaged but which I for no apparent good reason I stored in a box in my closet anyway. So it comes to the rescue in this (for me anyway) unique situation. I should have thrown it away back then -- or maybe not -- but in any case I'll use it one last night and then toss it into the dumpster.
But if I didn't have that tent... what would be the easiest way to make a cheap, use-once-and-throw-in-the-dumpster tent? Oddly enough I may have a similar need later this year.
