Sketchbook 2016
Me too.
Last summer, hiking with the OldRanger, we crossed over one last pass, somewhere deep in the Sawtooths...as usual, we were off-trail, and we stopped for a bit just below that final pass - after miles of talus; we had crystal lite snow cones.
There are certain specific places that stand out - in my mind's eye...I paint these from memory. (BTW, the watercolor process - first a value sketch is always made - included).
Humbly, I give you my 2016 sketchbook, starting with my version of Mike's Pass. A few others follow too, some high school sketches done recently including one of Lower Cathedral - this summer a place Mike wants to fish with rafts...just dreaming.

Very nice Mark, really like the Cathedral and Mildred sketches, love the colors in the second one.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
