You would go out of Horseshoe Meadows for Cirque Lake & Peak.

Thanks. I found it on a map. "Cirque Lake" is a common name for a lake so I just was not sure which one.

Yeah it's the whole Cottonwood Lakes area. I have been there so many times I found it hard to believe it had been 5 years since I had been in the area. I had never been by Cirque Lake so I made a small detour to see it.
I've never done much day hiking really so this was a bit of a different experience. It actually was the first time I have done a true solo trip in the sense that I didn't have to have someone drive me there. I may have waited to 30 to get a license but now it's paying off.

Thanks for posting Rogue. I went over NAP at 3:00 pm the same day. I followed the South Fork drainage back down to the trailhead by around 6:30 pm. It sure was a beautiful day!

Hmmm I was standing on the pass itself at about 3PM. Must have just missed me or hell maybe you did walk by me while I was headed down.

I did see one other guy at the top of the pass. He was taking pictures and wearing brown pants, long sleeve shirt and a medium sized sun hat. Maybe that was you? He was still there when I started down the switchbacks, and we didn't get a chance to talk, mostly I wanted to respect his possible desire for solitude. I saw a small group of maybe two other people heading down OAP earlier and two people fishing the lowest Southfork Lake later on the way down, but other than that I didn't see anyone else that day. Was there two of you and you started down right before I reached the pass? If so yep that was me. Brown pants, black shirt, white sun cap.
