Since B guessed the peak, he can post the next one. :)

That explains the heavily used but un-named use trail!

And I bet that photo was pretty late in the year. September? October?

OK. Try this:

Yes, would have been over labor day weekend a couple years ago. That area along the backsides of both Garnet and 1000 lake are some of my favorite places in the Sierra that I have visited.

Snevill's image is another where by using a straight edge on the topo one can locate the exact camera position that is about the northwest corner of Thousand Island Lake at these crosshairs:

http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=37.71911,-119.19360&z=19&t=H

The peak in the background poking over the left shoulder of Banner is topo point 3497. In front of the peak top is a rib of Banner right where a steeper slope slightly further distant meets a lower gradient hump that is on the 3220 meter line. All on a straight edge line from that lake corner where one can vaguely see the trail on the photo that on the satellite is somewhat snow obscured. That area back there is fabulous some years late July early August because of all the red Peirson's paintbrush on the very green turf lawns with several aesthetic ponds about.

The western end of Garnet can have a decent showing some years, though it has gotten more traffic in the past few years.

Balzaccom's image is on the ridge above Return Creek SW of Soldier Lake.

OK, Let's try this one. Many of you will recognize the distant peak, but the lakes in the middle ground....?

Rogue is correct--one of the really cool places in Virginia Canyon. And the peak in the background is Shepherd's Crest.

Rogue, you are up!

Sorry brookie--you have to guess one correctly before you get to post a photo in this game...

GB did offer a nice puzzle. I was not quite sure of the lake until I checked the topo, S...tL. GB was there because of nice golden trout in the lake above and that lake also offers a superb dawn view eastward about Labor Day. To get into that basin without going over to obvious snowy col is tricky. In this case he is en route to climb over the high tricky ridge to LI with that col mid frame.
