The earlier versions of The Complete Walker showcase Fletcher’s raw, full of a passion attitude…his gung ho backpacking…the earlier writer had style. Technical information and prices may be dated, but Fletcher’s unique take on all things mountaineering remains classic – does ramble on some but you always come away with something else to ponder. He showcases a no-nonsense sense of humor and his “guru” mountain wisdom shines throughout the pages – almost like being there… BTW, considered by some the mountain bible.
