Instant hot cocoa. Nothing says comfort on a cold dreary day better than hot cocoa heading down the gullet. Add a heaping teaspoon of instant coffee for some added kick.
Well, it's not strictly food or drink, but just as important at the end of a day on the trail, particularly if I have my fly rod out, would be a Montecristo Flor Fina robusto.
Wow! What a great find! I LOVE coffee, but don't want the hastle of what to do with the grounds..and have never found an instant that I don't hate. But the reviews on this product make it sound promising!! (that's coffee, BTW)

Tequila and hot cocoa is good too.
151 & Crystal lite is my favorite too.
BTW, I think that we met on the trail to Eagle Peak last year (June 21st I think). You where leading a group and asked me about the weather at the top.
a) smoked oysters. I always have one along for that day when I just need a bit more than peanuts and dried fruit for lunch. Plus my dog loves the oil for a special treat.
b) that can of Boddingtons that I stashed away for just the right moment
a and b together, in that perfect lunch spot, 4-5 days in with the rest of the world left behind = perfection. Can't wait to be there in about 8 days from today...
Rarely will I leave the trailhead without some Knob Creek Bourbon. It's great alone or with hot chocolate.
My wife really likes a drink called a Hot Apple Pie. It is Tuaca and hot cider. At ski bars it is usually served with a whipped cream floater, but this is not neccessary to be damn tatsy.
