Summer Gaiters

On a whim (and because they were $4) I ordered some "Desert Gaiters" from REI Outlet. Not sure whether I'll end up using them but they look like they'll do the trick keeping rocks out of my boots. Does anyone use these? Do they work?

I've looked at them, been tempted but haven't bought. I use a pair of OR short gaiters and though a bit heavier they have worked fine. Once I had to take a knee deep step into a lake to grab a wayward hat and they actually prevented my foot from getting soaked. Just drip or two above the ankle. Of course I was moving about as fast as an old man can move.

I have a pair, they work great, and keep the scree out of my low tops in summer. Thanks for the heads up on the price, I'm going to get another pair.
