TUESDAY, 30-SEP-08, 7:01 AM
YESTERDAYS WEAK TROUGH BROUGHT A NICE BAND OF SNOW ALONG THE SIERRA CREST, PARTICULARLY TO THE HIGH PEAKS OF THE SOUTHERN SIERRA. ALL THE 14'ERS GOT A DUSTING DOWN TO ABOUT 12,500 FEET. AND LETS NOT FORGET WHITE MOUNTAIN WHICH ALSO RECEIVED A SOLID DUSTING. A FEW LINGERING, ISOLATED SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TODAY AS THAT TROUGH LIFTS EAST. AS CLOUD COVER DECREASES, TEMPERATURES WILL RAISE A BIT TO JUST ABOVE SEASONAL NORMS. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY LOOK TO BE DRIER THEN ANOTHER TROUGH WILL DRAG ON THROUGH THE REGION LATE FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY. THIS WILL BRING A MORE WINTER-LIKE PATTERN TO OUR AREA, COOL THINGS DOWN, INCREASE THE BREEZES AND BRING WITH IT THE CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE VALLEYS AND LIGHT SNOW IN THE UPPER ELEVATIONS. THAT TROUGH SHOULD EXIT LATE SATURDAY WITH A RIDGE BUILDING IN ON SUNDAY, GIVING US MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES AND WARMING TEMPERATURES MONDAY AND TUESDAY.
TODAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. CHANCE OF SCATTERED RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS. CHANCE OF PRECIPT 10%. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR 85 FOLLOWED BY OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE UPPER 40S. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY FOR THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR 87 AND OVERNIGHT LOWS AROUND 48. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.
