Bear cannister needed on the Big Pine Lakes trail?
I see that, officially, a cannister is not required on this trail: should I take one anyway? What is the bear situation on the North Fork of Big Pine Creek? We are likely going up Tuesday of next week.

I have been there many times, but not recently. I never saw a bear or even bear scat on my trips there. Leave the canister at home, unless you want it to protect your food from the mice with it.

Cool, that'll simplify things a bit. Thx.
