I guess winter season has arrived

Check out this NOAA forecast for the coming week: https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.p ... rE6Qujwa70

Did that come through? If not, in a nutshell, using the median amounts, there should be 3 feet of snow on the ground by Tuesday! Bad news for disorganized folk like me-- Hwy 120 through Yossemite is very likely closed till next...??? April? I for one, didn't get my act together, and never made a drive up to Tuolumne to stash a few buckets of food by the Ski Hut. [Insert Bad language here........................]

I am hoping to have a good run at the winter season, to add to the fine summer of backpacking and traveling I've done so far, but I won't have the usual, easy ski in to Tuolumne with just a couple days food, and a wealth of food and drink waiting for me in the food storage container by the Hut.
But isn't it exciting to imagine all the snow falling up there?! Good luck out there.

errata: It's even more: ~44" by Monday night! So, more than 3.5 feet of new snow by Monday night.

Yeah, we had a family biking trip planned this weekend… didn’t even bother with the bikes but we did bring skis. I suppose you ski the snow on the ground not the month on the calendar?

Sounds great. The place in the photos above is nice-- Lake Aloha, and Mt Ralston in Desolation Wilderness. The only problem with that is the lack of a campfire there. Skiing in toward Tower Peak might be nice, and I think fires are allowed. PM me some of your ideas Gazelle.

I don't mind following you around:
