Planning a couple of overnights in mid-October starting from Mosquito Flat headed above Long Lake, and into the Rock Creek meadow area. Is there a site or resource for weather monitoring at these locations, aside from the NOAA Rock Creek (RCEC1) station? https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.p ... 8465859765

This map has a lot of the remote weather stations located in the Sierra and beyond. Enlarge the map to bring all the stations into view.

@freestone, I'll check it out. Thanks.

Yes, while I become acquainted with the UX, it looks like mid-October will be cold. Today's minimum is ~25F. Brrrrr

Much Sierra wilderness has no weather stations thus one must estimate from those sites that do. As someone that in the past often was on the eastside doing fall aspen leaf photography, mid October can occasionally be brutally cold. We experienced one morning down near Mono Lake at 6.8k in single digits with an area out near Mono Craters right at zero F. Some snow above 8k is common with any fronts.

LOL, Nice, and cold. Appreciate the input. We're doing a gear check this weekend to see if we're good to go.
