With 2 recreation dot gov Inyo NF JM Wilderness backpacks upcoming next week, I was pleased to receive emails that included thorough information about trip preparation including printing out permits, leader responsibilities, text of policies, contacts, help links, and a 6+ minute Leave No Trace policy video. One apparently is now required to also go to the California Campfire annual permit page to watch that test video for a permit to print out despite having a wilderness permit even if just using a bp stove. All good advances.

This person is still seeing significant numbers of camp sites too close to lakes and recently used and or built fire rings above policy elevation limits reflecting a generally sad, selfish "doesn't apply to me" attitude of many visitors.
