exiting Sierra High Route at Road's End - transport to Fresno?

Hi all, some friends and I are planning a hike through the southern part of the Sierra High Route, starting on the east side. Half the group will cut the hike short and exit on the east side, the rest of would like to hike out at Road's End.

The problem: how to get from Road's End to Fresno (where we can happily take a train home)?

Any ideas? Any recommendations for shuttle services? We'd be coming out over Labor Day weekend, so maybe it's realistic to hitch a ride at the trailhead, but would love any intel.

Thanks!

Public transit to/from westside trailheads is tough given the long distance from any main road to the trailhead. One idea could be for you to hike from Road's End to Onion Valley on the eastside. That's about 20 miles, all on good trail, which should be a breeze after the high route. Hitching into Independence from Onion Valley is super easy, and once you're in Independence, the ESTA bus will take you south to the Lancaster train station or north to the Reno airport.
