Yosemite NP Closed Indefinitely

YNP:
Yosemite National Park is now closed through Wednesday, March 1, due to severe winter conditions. Travel on all park roads is restricted to administrative traffic only. Administrative traffic should use the El Portal Road (the extension of HWY 140 into the park) to access the park.

Yosemite National Park is closed
Yosemite has experienced significant snowfall in all areas of the park, resulting in snow depths up to 15 feet in some areas. Park crews are working to restore critical services so visitors can safely return. There is no estimated date for reopening.

Just before it closed, I almost had pulled the trigger on driving up to the valley for snow photography and maybe even some Badger Pass fresh snow skiing. At 4000 feet, the valley rarely receives much snow and when they do, the considerable heat within its rock walls tends to melt off snow quickly. But this time it has been exceptionally cold, so even the big cliffs will remain gloriously snowy for any photographers stuck there. Lower Yosemite Falls in 2006 after an 18 storm:
