Hello,
To what web site do you go look up satellite pictures for snow and other condition information?
NOAA has satellite pictures, of course, but I have no idea how to pinpoint a specific area.
Thanks

I use two primary sources:
https://worldview.earthdata.nasa.gov/ low resolution daily imagery
https://apps.sentinel-hub.com/sentinel-playground/ high resolution, updates every few days (toggle the satellites off and on to get a regular map view)

and there is Caltopo.com's paid access to SentinelHub, some other usable imagery that update a few times daily and a low resolution feed that updates every ten minutes. it's $50 a year tho.

Wow. What did everyone do in the 80's? Just go and adjust as long as the roads are open. We just used to call ranger stations to find out conditions.

I too am in favor of banning information sharing on the internet.

one other site I find useful is the HRRR smoke map. it can be a little finnicky (not every run is complete) but it's a pretty good viz tool for short term smoke forecasts.
