Saturday - Rachel and I summited Inyo Mountain - made summit in a little under 6 hours including a stop off at the beekeeper's shelter.stayed on summit an hour and a half - the trip back was uneventful. except for the scree ski down to the wash - here you descend 2000 feet in less that 30 minutes - can you say yeeeehaaaaw.

I see everyone's photos from their winter trips and think back to when I was first living in Nevada in the mid 60's as a young teen and what I would have thought of your destinations and how much I have changed since then. Back then I would have had the redneck response of "you are crazy" going up there. Now, I'm just glad it is too far to drive to have to climb "that stuff".
After living in Nevada and visiting its many hidden scenic spots where ever I lived there, I enjoy the trees and mountains of Kalifornia better. Enjoying everyones photos. Thank you.

thanks Duane, TT, and CG - I keep thinking that I am due for a light weekend - this one was under 11 hours - so I guess I should be thankful - it's not my fault - these crazy HST women keep dragging me out in the middle of nowhere. if I didn't know better................ - good thing I am a trusting soul. or my new nickname - hiking slut(will hike for beer)
