Looking for a winter snow hiking partner in SoCal
I'm interested in doing some slightly more ambitious hikes during the winter months, such as San Gorgonio summits etc. Ideally, I would prefer to not do this alone. So, I'm reaching out and hoping that maybe someone else is in a similar position. Send me a PM if you'd like to discuss further.

Bumping for the 2014 season.
I'm planning on dusting off my winter gear and doing a big dayhike from Crystal Lake to Baden Powell and back on Saturday. It'd be much safer to have someone tag along, so if anyone is interested, let's do it.

When we met when you were heading up toward Pine Creek Pass I thought you had the perfect hiking partner, at least much better than mine.

Absolutely. I couldn't ask more anything more. Callie will even carry a beer up for me no questions asked.
However, in the case of trekking out into the snow by myself, I think Callie is more of a liability than an extra layer of security. That doesn't stop me from taking her, but my wife and I would feel better if I had an actual person accompany me on my more ambitious adventures.

I don't have any snow gear, but am up for the desert whenever. What part if so cal are you? Murrieta here. There's good winter backpacking in San moteo wilderness too...keep it on your radar.

I live in Altadena, so I hit up the San Gabriels frequently when the conditions are right.
I will also be doing some winter hikes in the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto wilderness this season... hopefully.

Speaking of the perfect hiking partner, I managed to get this pic of Callie on our first snow hike of the season.

I just saw this, and I might be your man. I just picked up my micro spikes and snow shoes. Hiked Mt Bliss 2 weekends ago with my wife and dog and am planning on Muir peak by your house this weekend. My wife will often go with me depending on the mileage. My dog usually goes. shes well behaved and obedient. I don't hike fast, about 2 miles per hour up hill and 2.5 down (roughly). Lets do one and see if it works. Phil
