Grouse Lake Tahoe NF 7/4-7/5
7/4-7/5 Grouse Lakes roadless area, Tahoe National Forest
Elevations 6500 to 8000 feet. Mixture of open granite slopes, lakes, and forest. Mosquitos generally "1" everywhere, whether breezy or calm, except a few bothered us at dusk at our camp by a lake. Only one bite for the whole trip!

Tablelands - Lone Pine Creek - Hamilton Lake - HST trip July
We went from Wolverton to Table Meadow to Tablelands to Pterodactyl Pass, descended into the Lone Pine Creek area, went to Hamilton Lake, and out via High Sierra Trail.
There were mosquitos at Lodegpole, rated about a 1 - not enough to convince me I needed DEET or a headnet.
Some on the Lakes trail - about a 1 at Emerald/Aster and Heather. We left the trail before Pear.
Some in the Kaweah on the way to Table Meadow, and at the unnamed lake above - about a 1.
We had a few in the high granite of the Tablelands - about a 1.
0 at Lone Pine Creek and Hamilton Lake, and at the creeks on the way out to Crescent Meadow - I saw one mosquito land on someone at Hamilton, but it flew away again.

Devils Bathtub, 6/27-29
3. Camped on the north side of the lake and the mosquitos were really bad at dawn and dusk. They were moderate during the day, coming in waves. A mosquito net and 100% Deet were welcomed additions.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Seldon Pass/Bear Creek - Sierra NF 7/5-7/9
North of Seldon Pass was orders of magnitude worse than south of it. Breezes at the higher elevations offered a few moments of relief here and there

Mono Pass>Parker Pass 7/5
7/5/14: Mono Pass Trailhead to Parker Pass/Koip Pass/Koip Peak - Almost Zero even in the trees when there wasn't much of a breeze. When I got back to the trailhead in the evening there were a few of them around, but not many.

North Fork Big Pine Creek 7/6-7/9
0 at the trailhead at Glacier Lodge
2 during day when cloudy or hiking in trees, generally 1 in the sunshine
3 at dusk until nightfall, then 2/1
Weather is warmer and mosquitos are worse than this same time last year in Bishop Pass and Palisade Basin but still not a problem. We didn't need head nets and used deet sparingly. Thanks for this great thread.

Tuolumne Mead/Snow Creek 7/3-7/6
7/3 & 7/4 Tuolumne Meadows backpacker camp - 2
7/4 through 7/6 Porcupine Flats, Snow Creek Falls area and Mt Watkins - 2
7/6 Lower Snow Creek Falls trail and Mirror Lake area - 5
It was horrible. About halfway down the Snow Creek Falls trail to Yosemite Valley we began to encounter swarms of mosquitoes. No breeze. By the time we got to the trail junction at Mirror Lake there were thousands of swarming biting mosquitoes. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Mirror Lake is all but dried up and the only water left is breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

Sabrina Basin 7/6-7/8
Sabrina Basin 7/6 thru 7/8:
Trail in, wet areas by creeks, gully with switchbacks just before Blue Lake, 2. Some biting flies when we went in (late afternoon).
Blue, Dingleberry, Midnight, Fishgut Lakes, 2-3 depending on if rocky or wet area.
Trails between lakes and cross country 2-3 depending on vegetation.
Trail junction (in meadow) Midnight Lake and Topsy Turvy Lake trails, mid-day--heavy and aggressive--3-4.
7/8 was drier and warmer than previous days and mosquitos were not as bad. Hiked out at noon--looked like showers moved back in about 3PM.
