What an interesting fish, looks like belly of brook, sides of rainbow, and tail of a brown. But that doesn't make sense. I suspect some genetic influence from Hanging Basket cutthroats, but browns and brooks don't cross with rainbows and cutthroats. Is this fish typical of Townsley?

very typical. Caught near the "deep end" where the inlet and Talus meet the water. That was about the average size. They are very deep, though.

Love the big spots on the tail of that golden. Possibly some cutthroat influence?
Here's another species-ambiguous fish:

If I had just seen this photo and not known where it was taken, I'd have to guess it was some kind of golden-rainbow hybrid.

another HB beauty from Sept '06. It was a really great day in Sept; lot's of fish that day. Not the usual "blown out" conditions:

Here's a shot to close out the last day of the fishing photothon. The picture isn't the best, but this 21" brown caught this past fall is my personal best backcountry fish:

Variouse photos of fish I caught over the last couple of years. My favorite is of the little brookies caught with assistance from my son Parker!

Happy 2011 everyone! Best wishes for photos of 2011 fishes!
