I have not done so yet, but am in a similar situation. The old RXIII is beginning to show signs of wear, so it is also time for me to think about a replacement. It is surprising that the options are no longer light-years ahead of the old model, given how much change there was in cameras for me every 5 years or so for the first 2/3 of my backpacking life. Let me know what you decide and it might help me with my next choice!

This is the norm, Peter. Newer models have only incremental improvements, which is why it’s best to skip a generation or even two to see any appreciable improvements.
