Carr Lake trailhead over to 5 Lakes and Glacier Lake (and back). Extremely windy the whole time which kept the mosquitoes down to practically zero. However, I suspect the real prevalence is level 2 to 3, because in the few sheltered forest areas with no wind, some would start landing on me and I did get a few bites.

Grouse Lake to West Fork Cherry Creek on lower trail, some local pockets at a 4, but most locations a 2-3. Breezy conditions and a cool snap greatly diminished them, DEET worked wonders, and the trip was pleasant.

6/5 Kibbie Creek drainage, Many Island Lake, Little Bear Lake: 2 - 3, getting pretty annoying at sunset
6/7 Little Bear Lake, Inferno Lakes: 1 during the day, steady breeze at dusk kept them to a 1, then 3 after it died down

6/6 to 6/12: Green Creek TH > West Lake > Par Value Lakes > Glines Canyon > Virginia Pass > Virginia Canyon > Lower McCabe Lakes > Shepherd & Onion Lakes (xc traverse via roper route alternative saddle) > Summit Pass > Green Creek TH

Level 1 in the Green Lakes region, had three nights in the 20s which wiped them out which is great since trails were flooded some frequently (aside from a few short sections of Virgina Canyon and & Lower McCabe Lakes you could just splash through with your boots). Level 1 when exiting below Green Lake where it was warmer.

Jun 10-13 Piute Pass - Humphreys Basin
Breezy most days, mosquitos seem to be on the increase as they were barely a 1 on the way in.
Piute Lake - 2-3 with no wind.
Desolation Lake(s) - 5 with no wind. You better have a blood donor on stand by.
Mesa Lake - 5 with no wind.

Did a quick day hike to Baboon Lakes on Sunday morning. We knew they’d be out, but I don’t think I was mentally prepared. 😂

Trailhead to Blue Lake - maybe a 2? Saw a few, didn’t bug us
Donkey/Baboon trail split to Baboon - 4. Out in full force. Thankfully a strong, cold wind once over the ridge down to Baboon.

June 11-12, Lodgepole to Ranger Lake to Ball Dome to Lodgepole

In the middle of the day, in an open spot there were few. Mosquitoes always present in meadows, dark forests, and boggy lakes. I wore shorts this trip, thinking they'd only bug me when I had my baselayers on, but I was wrong: I have possibly hundreds of bites.

A solid 4, without a doubt.
