Given how many people responded with Tehipite Valley, maybe that's where we should hold next year's HST get-together.

Tehipite Valley with Tehipite Tom. That sounds like a great place for a gathering and a great time.

Hard to believe it's been 15 years since that get-together at Cedar Grove. HST or not, you and I are definitely overdue for a reunion.

Lake 10236[/quote]
When I saw that lake from the High Route, I called it "The Lake At The Edge of Forever".
There was a few lakelets in the next basin over I wished I spent more time investigating. As someone else mentioned, on that route, you have to plan extra time for side trips.
"I can't believe I haven't been to..." The Humphrys Basin area. Just about the only trailed area I have not been to in the Sierra.

I was on a trip in 1992 with my son mike. We were in the campground in upper paridise valley. I met a man who had been on the high route starting from Kings Caynon. He was returing (from this fishing trip on the high route). He told me where he had been and I asked him about "the lake at the edge of forever" and if he and his group visited this lake. He told me they had been there and it had been an unscheduled stop. Beacuase I knew their trip was a fishing trip I knew that they had fished in that lake. I asked him what the fishing was like and he repeated that is was un unscheduled stop (apparently avioding answering my question). I ask him again and he abruptly turned and walked away. I figured that this lake was a possible a lake for really good fishing. I can't believe I never went there in the following 4 years with Mike. Mike and I went on one dificult trip per year. The following 4 years we went to Dumbell, Tunamah, Arrow peak lake and the lake under Boy Scout peak. 10 years laker Gregg K and I began a trip to this lake. There was a fire in KC and ash was falling all around us and we dicided to go to Granit basin and then return. I still can't believe I never went there.

Once someone sent me a PM and said he had been there but didn´t fish it. He only stayed for lunch and didn´t see any puddles. Interesting but I guess I´ll go to my grave and not know about the only lake of my prefered destinations because I didn´t go there. I comunicated with Rouge about this and he told me he planned to go but apparently never did.

Actually Chris AKA Rogue visited Lake 10236 last year and posted photos in the
The least visited lake thread.
My answer to the question posed by the OP is Evolution Valley. I can't count how many times I've headed up Goddard Canyon from the JMT or dropped down into Evolution Basin from either Lamarck or Alpine Col. But I've never set foot on the stretch of trail between the Martha Lake trail junction and McGee Canyon.

Thanks I didn´t remember that. They say the memory is the second thing to go. Thank god it´s the first thing to go for me.
