Hmmm. How to get in trouble.
We were camping at Simpson Meadow. We packed up the next morning to ascend the Monarch Divide. We topped off our water bottles and headed up what is affectionately known as the ****. A few miles up trail I took a sip of water, but it wasn't exactly water, it was leftover toddy from the night before. 100 proof whiskey and Crystal Lite. There is absolutely no water on that trail until you hit Dougherty Meadow. The trail is, however, steep and dusty. I'll leave the rest to your imagination, but we did contemplate dropping our packs and beat feeting it to Dougherty creek.
