Thanks for the tip Bill. Michael/rockyroad has put together a great website to showcase his wild hikes. Really outstanding routes, and I couldn't stop reading one report after another until I reached the trip featuring his crash and burn below Lake Catherine. What an epic, though Michael writes about in such staid and stoic language. Now I feel I really need to buy one of those damned Spot devices.

Other than his falling off small cliffs, all of rockyroad's adventures will be a joy to follow. Harlen.

Ian, thank you for the kind words about my simple website, especially since there are so many detailed, well-written and attractive websites out there, not to mention all of the trip reports available via search on HST. I appreciate the exaggeration "wild hikes" but except for the short one below Lake Catherine which is actually probably better described as "careless hike", in my opinion they are all walks in the park compared to your adventures.
