Here's a short video I made in June of my trip to Mt Lyell...

Re: SIERRA INSPIRATION VIDEOTHON!
Nicely edited video and not too long at 4 minutes, thanks.
I've been accumulating numbers of videos captured off my Sony A6000 and spring 2021 bought a GoPro8 (4k max) I've posted skiing videos on youtube. Using Adobe Premiere 2021 for editing that would be a bit difficult for many to use much like Photoshop for stills. Quality of even 1080p videos viewed directly on my computer are impressive versus what was available a couple decades ago, however youtube greatly compresses even 1080p for anything moving resulting in lots of artifacts. Of course premium pay accounts are not. Of course due to the huge file sizes, posting videos directly from one's home computers is impractical.
I've already processed some excellent short 60 second videos from my June 2017 backpack down in the Cherry Creek glaciated canyon showing big whitewater. On a 2021 I also GoPro8 captured a fair amount of trail video with my brother that I was surprised at the resulting quality.
Will suggest those posting videos note the dates and video length. Long videos without any editing will not be popular though that is the only level fair numbers may be able to add. There are large numbers of such mediocre videos on Youtube.

Thanks David.
I appreciate the backpacking experience, natural beauty, and minimalism. I spend a lot of time editing, much of it on reducing the amount of footage. Less is more, usually.

Let me give this thread a boost. Not my video, but the kind of stuff that gets my juices flowing to head back up there. Epic JMT journal. If you have an extra hour, this video will be an hour well spent. This guy knows his camera stuff. A friend who doesn't hike said "this video is like a calendar."
