Where in the Boundary Waters is this? Is this the Minnesota Boundary Waters? I'm curious because I spent my summer years 9 through 20 there. Also, I love the photo.
I don’t need a goal destination. I need a destination that meets my goals.

yes, Minnesota! First night out from end of Gunflint trail, about a mile and a half from border.

I know the area well. I was first a camper and then canoe counselor at a summer camp from 1960 to 1970 and so did a lot of trips through Gunflint Lake. At that time, we could go for days and see no one else in that area. Rose Lake was probably my favorite lake in the entire BWCA.

SIERRA INSPIRATION PHOTOTHON!
Visited Big Sur for the first time this past weekend. Bought a Big Stopper, and though I need some practice (sun will cause crazy flare), I didn't think this came out too poor for the first time attempting a long exposure during daylight.
Going camping at Marmot Rock this weekend so hopefully can find some cool water ways and what not to take photos of. I believe the Courtright Reservoir is there.

Re: non SIERRA INSPIRATION PHOTOTHON!
New day dawning over the aging Glasshouse Mts, Qld, Australia.
The soft outer craters have worn away leaving these hard volcanic plugs....
Last rays of the day.....Mt Lindsay in the distance viewed from Mt Maroon.
The temps on the windy summit were falling quickly, so I dropped down to
a sheltered ridge & made camp among the stunted & twisted eucalypts.
Morning views of Mt Barney...with some of the 10 or so ridges on view,
that we locals like to explore & climb to it's double headed, east & west peaks.

Out 'n about....looking for trout.

Re: non SIERRA INSPIRATION PHOTOTHON!
I took my first trip to the Columbia River Gorge last month and was amazed at the concentrated beauty of the place. It didn't seem to matter where in the Gorge I was, 30 minutes in any direction offered seemingly unlimited opportunities of natures finest.
Panther Creek Falls has been on my "bucket list" for a while and it did not disappoint. I came prepared with 30 feet of rope and hip waders and I put both to good use for this shot. I can't wait to get to back, the three hours I was there passed in an instant.
