Re: Camp Shots
Thanks Fishmonger
We breezed thru island pass while on the JMT. It's a beautiful area and I would like to spend more time there.
Is there a trip report for these pics?

Re: Camp Shots
No trip report, just a full photo gallery from a JMT hike that went through there.
http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/outdoor/gallery/JMT2010/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
the gallery button on the left lets you pick individual days from the trip - the Island Pass section was on July 13/14 that year.
I've been re-working the RAW files from that year in new software, so things in there are being updated gradually. You'll easily tell what has been updated recently, as the old JPEGs were processed pretty much with generic settings.
Here's another reworked shot - making tortillas with taco filling below Forester Pass

Re: Camp Shots
Our camp in Lost Canyon July 19, 2013 near sunset under an enormous arched boulder. Arch faces up canyon to the west-northwest so receives morning shade and afternoon light. My Big Agnes UL1 is at left where a smaller boulder overhangs providing a windowed background to the creek meadow and foxtail pine slopes on the Needham Mtn ridge. Good clean spring nearby at base of talus. Also nearby in the creek meadow was an interesting CO2 spring bubbling up through the water and leaving lots of rusty rocks and interesting bacteria mats.

Closer view of our site atop clean coarse granite sands. The rock works were made years ago.

This is the family, Lee (11), Judy, and Dawn (7), at a trailless big brookie spot on the west flank Sierra June 30 of this year.
Since my fishing (etc.) website is still down, you can be distracted by geology stuff at: http://www.fresnostate.edu/csm/ees/facu ... ayshi.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Camp Shots
Here are two "vintage" camp shots from the July 1993 Dumbbell Lakes I took with Judy.
