Very nice, even with the photo bucket stamp!
Other than purple and Virginia, I have never been to any of these places. I can’t wait! It also sounds like off of the jmt, not that crowded.

Re: TR- Silver Divide
Just a note: 2011 was a very high snowpack year, so the conditions we had are NOT typical of late August. I would say everything was about a month behind normal.

Re: TR- Silver Divide
I understand. But we had that CRAZY STRONG storm in March this year. I know, we happened to be there skiing during the storm!! Wrecked the trip since we were stuck with white out conditions for a couple of days and then the snow was too deep to be safe. With skis on, sunk to my knees!!

Re: TR- Silver Divide
Great TR-thanks. I have a trip in mid-September that will take me the full length of Cascade Valley, from the Iva Bell area to the Minnow Creek trail en route to Peter Pande. I've been assuming the mozzies would not be a problem at that time of the season but your TR and other posters suggest it can vary from year to year. If anyone is in this valley this year pls share your mozzie experiences! TIA.
