That's great that you got into those wild vocanic mountains. Rainier sure deserves some more exploring; can you give us a recommendation for a scenic hike? Too bad it's not for dogs. For that reason, we may well stick to the National Forest places. Did you climb one of the Sisters?

Our group had one day off for a day hike and we were on the Northwest side of the mountain, which is called the Sunrise area. I did two hikes in this area, one from a previous training trip (which was to a fire lookout). They were both beautiful, though I don't remember the trail names. The peaks I've climbed have been in desert wilderness areas of southern California and in the Sierra, though just a handful.
