Laurence, thanks for sharing your very personal journey and reflections on acknowledging age and physical limitations. While I too now prioritize getting to new places, you remind that I make time to say "goodbye" to my personal favorites and once there spend to make it a proper goodbye.
Your love of Dusy Basin is unmistakable.
The second "Peaks, LeConte Canyon, lower Dusy Basin, sunrise" photo...yes, Dusy Basin is special.

Not only appreciated, but inspirational. I see a 5 day weather window right now (3/22- 3/26), and after seeing your magical Dusy Basin photos, that is now my first choice of a destination. It's those two "Winchell Crest" photos dancing around on my brain. I want to stare into those Palisades at sunset! Hope I can pull it off.... skis-which skis? s
Snowshoes?.. Solo, or partner??
