I made a new bag for my old Jansport Scouter external frame. I also removed everything off the frame that I didn't think that I needed. Weighs 1lb 14oz. I made the bag out of 1.1 oz silnylon I bought from Ripstopbytheroll.

In the picture I have my bearvault at the bottom of the frame and my sleeping bag & tent inside the bag. I have decided that I like the bearvault inside and the sleeping bag & tent outside. The bag is 14" wide x 8" deep x 21" long. It easily holds everything I carry with room to spare.

Today I packed everything that I carry in my pack not including water or food. Pack weight came in at 20 lbs 2 oz. I think that is pretty good. I hardly notice the weight when I have it on. I have gone over and over my gear and don't think that there is anything I can subtract or would want to add.
