@LMBSGV I would not have thought of it but you are correct how the hordes disappear as it gets dark. Other than Nevada and Yosemite Falls and LYV and Glacier Point, the whole area felt almost empty. I can basically count on two hands the total number of people I saw on trails once I was away from the dayhikers. Other than LYV the only time I camped near someone was a solo backpacker on North Dome, otherwise I felt like I had the place to my self.
@grampy thanks for the flower IDs. I have a book, but sometimes the different angles of photos make it hard to be sure of an ID
@paul Glacier Point all to myself is what I was hoping for, but evidently there are some people willing to do the climb out of the valley. At least there weren't as many people as the top of Yosemite or Nevada Falls.
@Gogd the pizza was from Curry Village, it was not the best I've ever had, but pretty tasty after 5 nights on the trail.
@Harlen thanks for the flower IDs and you are right about my luck with the bears, especially the second one who was practically posing for me.
