That's probably a good idea since you would be paying by length for both car and trailer. I booked our passage yesterday for 4 weeks in Alaska plus 3 days up on the ferry and 3 days back. The cost just for the car (2008 4Runner) is $1,150 x 2 once for going up and once for coming back. Ouch. But saving a lot of driving up and back, plus having a car in Alaska will hopefully make it worth it. We'll see - TR on return in mid-September.oldranger wrote:PS

PS--Pulling the trailer the total would have been about $4,000! and that includes the benefit of sleeping on the deck!
