Why do you need more than one key for your car?

No, not trying to supplement my social security - been accused of many things, but never a trail-trash, thieving, gomer. (BTW, another classification not yet mentioned here.)
Started this thread because of a chance meeting this summer. At lower Ottoway, walked into a recent bear encounter situation. Seems that a bear visited a couple's campsite while they were off fishing, did some typical bear stuff, including running off with one of their backpacks. The pack was eventually located - slightly torn...all was still intact except for the car keys - missing/gone. We looked hard...alas, one of my greatest fears realized...(Wonder what it cost them to get a locksmith up to Glacier Point?).
Before this incident - (got me thinking) - my key was always kept in the top map pocket, under the top flap in my backpack (Gregory provides a little clip there.) Now thought it better to carry it with me, safe in a zippered side pocket in my shorts...FYI, a pocket never opened.
RE: ID, park pass, credit card, and $$...When out backpacking, stored inside a waterproof, clear plastic wallet, inside another baggie - stashed in the zippered pocket of my cold-weather/rain pants. FYI, these pants are rarely worn (if at all)...primarily a pillow, but now being bear pro-active, kept in tent and not inside of my backpack when out fishing and left unattended in camp.
Lastly, I do carry one other "secret" storage item - the fish!...(probably recognized in many previous photos posted here - see photo). Amazingly realistic, and at 15 1/2 inches, a good measuring stick for trout size comparison. More than that though, distinguishes me as a "dirt bag fisherman" (see classification post)...as if my green rod tube were not enough.
Lastly, inside of the fish, my bong!...medicinal.
HYOH.

That's food for thought.
I normally carry license and health insurance card and car key in my Sierra wallet, a thick zip lock bag just big enough to fit the stuff. Then it goes into the baggie with my map and compass. Where I keep it may be something to consider.
