Need suggestions for 2-nighter near Tahoe with kids

We were aiming for Echo Lakes area, but permits were all gone...Until I randomly decided to check again one last time. Something opened up, and we were able to get 2 nights at Tamarack Lake!

I appreciate the input; this seems like a great resource. I hope our first trip is a grand success, and that I have the chance to participate more in this community
