If you've been searching for the best source of information and stimulating discussion related to Spring/Summer/Fall backpacking, hiking and camping in the Sierra Nevada...look no further!
Posting pictures is easier than I thought, so here are some more aerial photographs of the Sierra. This is on an west to east crossing at 41,000 feet on Tuesday. If you were to draw a line between fresno and a point, 40 or so miles north of Bishop, thats where these were taken from. I don't know if anybodys interested in these sorts of photos or not but, here ya go. I also don't know my SEKI landmarks very well so I can't really point out anything specific for orientation in them. I sure those more familiar with the area can reference some landmarks. Enjoy!
Lake Thomas Edison
Mammoth Mtn. in the center. San Joaquin River Gorge to the left of that, Mono in the background. You can just barely make out the Mammoth airport so. of town.
Thanks, I'll put some more up when the snow starts piling up. It's always interesting to me watching everything dissapear slowly (and sometimes not so slowly!) throughout the late fall.
Wow, what nice photos. Those will sure give you something to daydream about during the winter! Check that: I'LL daydream looking at these. There are some lakes in these photos that are the stuff of which dreams are made.
