Anything new with Ursack approval?
I'm hiking the JMT in Aug./Sept. and would prefer to carry my 8 oz Ursack to my 39 oz BV-500. Is there anything new on the Ursack approval quest?

P.....
No loosening of restrictions. And weight savings for other areas not as much as between the base weight of ursack and the hard sided containers because if you just use the sack without the aluminum insert a bear can still destroy your food (oh and SEKI requires, as I understand it, that you counterbalance whether using the insert or not). With the ursack without the insert you must still counterbalance and if you are going to do that why use a heavy ursack bag when a silnylon bag of similar volume will weigh a little over an ounce?
