I've tried all sorts of socks, until I found Darn Tough socks. I now ski, hike and ride my bike in them (when cold). Over a year, and they don't even show wear. Can't find them at discount, but they are so good, I may just buy me another pair at full price.
liners don't do much for me.

I have a pair of silk/ wool socks that are my go to hiking socks. I love them, very comfortable, great padding, and they hold up great.
I'm no suture for my future.
