Re: SIERRA INSPIRATION PHOTOTHON!
it is not always the great vistas that draw me back to the Sierra - here some non-descript piece of forest between Vermillion Valley Resort and Graveyard Meadow on a cold July morning in 1989. It is 5:30am, I just spent an hour chasing a cat-like bear around the camp and wondered where the epicenter of the earthquake was that shook the trees above our tent on the evening before...
22 years later, I still remember how good the fire felt and how glad I was there was finally light and I could see if the bear was still stalking us. Note the classic Bleuet stove with Belgian army rectangular pot

Early morning sun hits a stream along the Muir Trail, somewhere in Evolution Valley before the trail climbs the next step in the valley up to Evolution Lake.
