Above 4x5 Provia through my 150mm Nikor on Sunday March 13 in the Coast Range. Gilia tricolor and California poppies. Twas lots of happy bees all about.
Actually have been in the Sierra Nevada low elevations on the last two Saturdays and found some nice material too. Packed all my gear up tonight and as long as I can find a way to avoid working this weekend at my job, will take off down to Carrizo Plain. Looks iffy at the moment though.
Nice Dave, I have see some of your flower status reports over on Calphoto.
It looks like it may be a decent year for flowers up at the higher elevations too
though one can never really make an accurate prediction so far ahead.
I called down to Henry Coe this week and they said they are about 1-2 weeks
from peaking.
Temblor Range at Carrizo is having another God spilled paint on the hills year.
A bit mixed on the Carrizo plains as flower species are less syncrhonized in their bloom due to the weather. Thus some species peaking last weekend like the big Bigelow's coreopsis field on Simmler Road while others like owls clover just rising. Gooooood in places. Exposed a couple Provia 4x5 sheets on this plain of dense just out of bud goldfields with patches of rising phacelia:
