Thredbo to Mt Kosciuszko, New South Wales, Australia
PHOTOS: http://snownymph.smugmug.com/Australia- ... 4502_PeXC3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
View of the ski lifts from our room. Most people start the hike from the top of the lift, but we hiked it (1,882' gain and 5km each way added to our hike)
From top of the ski run, its another 1,000'+ and 6.5km each way. They use grating to prevent erosion.
Mt Kosciuszko is the rounded peak, Rawson Pass is to the right
Snow is pink, probably from the recent dust storm that closed Sydney Airport (red dust, no visibility)
We followed tracks straight up
Snow Nymph and SnowDude on Mt Kosciuszko
Great views
Head back on some kind of rubber netting
But we decided to follow some foot tracks . . . thats a guy going up, I'm about 1/2 way down
Path going back, Kosciuszko Lookout to the left on the horizon
Thredbo Village below
Our hotel below (round pool in front of it)

Wonderful pix, as always! Ummm, lets see now: you're upside down, summer is winter, and you drive on the left? It's enough to make one dizzy!
What a great adventure you're having, though. Thanks for sharing it.

Have missed your photos and trip reports, thanks for posting Cori! Those ski lifts..australia?!? Not the typical scene I'd associate with Australia.

That place is absolutely beautiful! You and Scott have a great Thanksgiving, hope to see both of you back in the Sierra soon.

Ah, nice to see Mt. Kozy again! We climbed it in '02 and were surprised at how rugged the territory around it was. Also went skiing at Thredbo -- well, I can say it was an "experience," I guess
Nice to see you posting!
