I went to Heaven!
On earth...
Bad weather brewing on the way in...Bear Creek Spire area last weekend.
Dusting of snow on BCS...
After the storm and fall colors on the Eastside...
Anybody know the story on this?

Jody, those are awesome! I guess I know where I'm going this weekend! Thanks!

Beautiful pictures for sure.

Great pictures!
I was in the parker lake area the same day you were there taking pictures. It was a beautiful day indeed.

Codester, what were you driving? Was it a 4RNR by any chance?

Re: I went to Heaven!
Before this current age of compact and DSLR digital cameras and the web, during this season of fall leaf change, there were far far less outdoor photographers and people about the Eastern Sierra aspen groves. Amazing how it has all changed in just a few years. Still the majority of those that now have a bit of fall experience in Eastern Sierra, have still not discovered wonders in the western Sierra that tend to occur a bit later because it is more difficult to find areas that are spectacular and the timing windows are shorter.

Dave is right. The west side has many hidden areas. You have to know where to look. The shots above required some exploring to get to and a little hiking. I saw the colors off to my right in the distance while driving down 395 and I just started feeling my way down some gravel roads in my Corolla until I started ripping off the undercarriage. I then stopped and hiked to get into position.
rscofield...these shots were taken with a Sigm SD-14. I also took a couple of rolls of film(Velvia 50 and E100VS) which I haven't sent off to the lab yet.
